Four years ago Acker was honoured with an MBE
for his services to the Music Industry and in 2005 he was awarded a BBC Jazz Award for his unique contribution to jazz in the UK.
Acker is a charismatic and dedicated musician, and is exceptionally professional. He first started to play the clarinet in 1948 and his musical passion carries on to this day along with his bowler hat and waistcoat!
